Kangaroo Island is one of the world's greatest nature-based destinations
We hope you have an amazing stay
Kangaroo Island is a true wildlife sanctuary. Due to it's isolation from the mainland, it retains more than half of its native 'old-growth' vegetation - a vast area of 2,250 square kilometres. Wildlife includes kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, echidnas, penguins and many species of birds.

With native bushland, wildlife, adventure & exploring. Where pristine beaches, local wines & sunsets are on your doorstep. You'll need longer than you think!
You can travel in the comfort of your own fully equipped Campervan, staying at any of the islands beautiful camping locations. The size of Kangaroo Island shouldn't be underestimated. Think of an island with 509km of Coastline & 155km from the East Coast to the West Coast. It is Australia's third largest island and can take two hours and 20 minutes to travel east to west and 45 minutes to travel north to south. It is much bigger than most people realise, so you should plan your holiday to give yourself enough time to see the sights. The major roads between Penneshaw, American River, Kingscote, Parndana and Flinders Chase are sealed and well maintained and signposted but the remainder of the roads are unsealed and require reduced speed and caution, particularly on corners and approaching other traffic. This is all part of the remote rural Australian experience. Fuel is available at Kingscote, Penneshaw, and Parndana. Kangaroo Island wildlife is precious , protected, and often active at night, so best be at your camping destination early to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. Even during the day you will spot wildlife crossing the roads, so caution will be required.
